In this project, we tried to use robot and cameras to capture the audience’s facial expressions, record and present the audience’s first reaction to the new technology. After the captured expression is analysed by machine learning, the robot records the outline of the expression and the three main emotions on the scroll. Viewers can compare their feelings with those which robot estimated retrospectively. The audience and the machine analyse each other and their actions affect the outcome simultaneously. Looking at hundreds of thousands of pieces of data on paper, recorded with or without the knowledge of the other party. We tried to open the black box to show the process of data analysis and arouse the audience’s attention to the issue of data collection and personal privacy protection. <img width="6000" height="4000" SchüpbachMedium ········ Bronze, RobotYear ·········· 2022 Charon’s Necklace Charon's Necklace is the result of a project that combines craft and parametric design with a mythological lead. Charon, the ferryman of the River Styx, charges each traveler a piece of coin. To help him prove his identity, I decided to make a necklace for him. It started with a two-dimensional draft and then converted into a three-dimensional form. Afterward, it was made by a robot arm in oil-bonded casting sand to create a negative mold. Are these deformations controllable, and how does the form of 3D printed ceramics relate to the manufacturing method? Whenever people mention certain words to the voice assistant, the air inside the glass enclosure will be pulled out into a vacuum. Without the medium, there is no sound. Using the metaphor of the teaching apparatus of a school physics class, this project tries to ask how this kind of instrument will affect our behavior and decisions. Whenever we communicate with him/her, its body will inflate and expand, touching our bodies. The story is based on real-life experiences: Yang, as a new intern, moved into a capsule hotel in Shanghai and took Christoph with him. Each capsule can accommodate only one person and he was willing to share this space with Christoph. Because everyone doesn’t know each other that well yet, at first everyone likes to stay in his or her room But eventually we all sit together on the couch and talk to each other, arms touching. This intimate physical contact that develops as we get to know each other fascinates me very much. In contrast to a flat share, you lie in such a small cabin in the capsule hotel, a bit lonely, you talk and interact with the voice assistant. It starts to get bigger, fills, occupies, divides this small space. When its air-stretched surface touches your skin, an intimate companionship is created. Replica Eliza. Compared to Xiao Ai and Xiao Bing, Eliza was able to have continuous conversations and gave very different answers to questions about intimacy and the body. Through my contact with her, I discovered that within the program there are alerts for help when the user may be in danger. The program collects feedback from users on their responses. I also tested the program’s feedback on users’ use of uncivil language. Replika can give users the power to choose which relationship they are in with each other. With the paid service, users can even flirt with the created characters. Unfortunately, the romance is revealed in a sudden change of subject - the beloved one is not a real person. In our network, everyone owns a digital space (house) and can exchange their house keys with up to 5 people (their close circle of friends). Every key exchange is mutual, and those trusted contacts have super-admin powers over all the houses to which they possess the keys. Those powers include deleting content, inviting other people over (visitors), and deciding how those visitors can interact in the house. In other words, keyholders are fully responsible for their close friend's houses. He led us into the Afghan diaspora in Berlin, where we experienced the weight and definition of trust in their culture. Taking this experience as a starting point, we set up a Metaverse workshop in a virtual restaurant to listen to their views on social networks and to discuss together the norms of human interaction in the community. Based on these guidelines and experiences we created GizUp as a response to the research theme - Social Networks of Tomorrow.The name of GizUp is a whimsical fusion of "Gizab," a district in Afghanistan's Daykundi Province, and the uplifting spirit of our dear friend Hassan, who is originally from there. The Metaverse workshop scene was based on an Afghan restaurant we interviewed in Marseille - Chez Romain et Marion. Marion came to Marseille in her youth, and Romain is a native Marseillean. They shared with us about the local Afghan community and the different ways they feel about their Afghan roots. Hassan once took all of us to dine together at an Afghan restaurant in Berlin.
