Facing You
The project is an interactive installation, with a robot that analyses the persons in his environment.
In this project, we tried to use robot and cameras to capture the audience’s facial expressions, record and present the audience’s first reaction to the new technology. After the captured expression is analysed by machine learning, the robot records the outline of the expression and the three main emotions on the scroll. Viewers can compare their feelings with those which robot estimated retrospectively.
The audience and the machine analyse each other and their actions affect the outcome simultaneously. Looking at hundreds of thousands of pieces of data on paper, recorded with or without the knowledge of the other party. We tried to open the black box to show the process of data analysis and arouse the audience’s attention to the issue of data collection and personal privacy protection.

Charon’s Necklace
Charon's Necklace is the result of a project that combines craft and parametric design with a mythological lead.
Charon, the ferryman of the River Styx, charges each traveler a piece of coin. To help him prove his identity, I decided to make a necklace for him. It started with a two-dimensional draft and then converted into a three-dimensional form. Afterward, it was made by a robot arm in oil-bonded casting sand to create a negative mold. Finally, I polished the details after pouring the bronze with the help of a professional jewelry artisan.

Cross Fade
We try to create the illusion of different forms crossing each other in the digital model and make them into ceramics by 3D printing. By enlarging the print bond, we can get the threshold value of the material support and explain the secret of the shape crossing illusion. How does the weight of the upper part of the clay itself affect the shape of the lower part? How much does it differ from the digital model? Are these deformations controllable, and how does the form of 3D printed ceramics relate to the manufacturing method? These are the topics we explore in this project.

Sound Around
Sound Around is a floating loudspeaker. It floats freely in space and offers the possibility for individual sound installations: for example, by placing different sound sources playing in multiple Sound Arounds, the audience can change the position of the Sound Arounds in space to mix them physically on the spot. Sound Around brings audience a different kind of interactive music experience through its magic.

Sound Needs Medium to Travel
Sound Needs Medium to Travel is a speculative project discussing the
topic of speech control in some countries through sensitive word filters
on the internet.

The story envisions a future in which people will need to take their home voice assistants to government offices for “update”. The voice assistant will be moved out of its original container and into a uniform, clear glass enclosure The exhaust port at the bottom of the glass enclosure is used to connect to a new socket next to the power socket in the home. Whenever people mention certain words to the voice assistant, the air inside the glass enclosure will be pulled out into a vacuum.
Without the medium, there is no sound. Using the metaphor of the teaching apparatus of a school physics class, this project tries to ask how this kind of instrument will affect our behavior and decisions. Can we be informed about which words we should not say and which words we can still say now?
